Shreetee AppaduShreetee Appadu

Nova Scotia

Shreetee Appadu (they/them) is a queer immigrant from Mauritius who moved to Kjipuktuk in 2017 for their studies. They did a Bachelor in Environmental studies with a minor in Geography at SMU and are very passionate about environmental justice, intersectionality and community care. 

 

Kristen MurrayKristen Murray

Newfoundland & Labrador

Kristen Murray (she/her) is a community leader, activist, and social entrepreneur from Newfoundland & Labrador living in St. John’s on the island of Ktaqmkuk. Kristen is a Master of Business Administration in Social Enterprise & Entrepreneurship student at Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Board Member of the Social Justice Co-operative of NL.

Inda IntiarKhairunnisa (Inda) Intiar

New Brunswick

Born in Indonesia, Inda now lives on the banks of the Petkukweak, in the Siknikt district of Mi’kma’ki (Moncton, NB). She’s passionate about storytelling, sustainable development, youth empowerment, and building bridges between peoples. She contributes to her community through grassroots projects, boards, committees, as well as her writings. She’s been recognized with various awards locally and regionally, and was named one of Future of Good’s Young Impact Leaders in Canada in 2019. Paul WalshPaul Walsh

Newfoundland & Labrador

Paul Walsh (he/him) is CEO of the Autism Society of Newfoundland & Labrador (ASNL).  Paul spent 35 years working in private industry before joining ASNL in 2021.  Born with Cerebral Palsy, Paul has been an active volunteer in this disability community for over 25 years.  Paul holds both Bachelor of Commerce – Co-operative and Master of Business Administration degrees, a Masters Certificate in Project Management, and is a Chartered Manager. Paul is also a part-time student at Queen’s College School of Theology in St. John’s, pursuing a Masters degree in Theological Studies.

 

Siobhan TakalaSiobhan Takala

Nova Scotia

Siobhan (she/her) is a community connector and creative. She is originally from the prairies, and has been a guest in Mi’kma’ki for the past 7 years. Siobhan is the Co Director and Co Founder of Let’s Sprout, a youth-led initiative that creates spaces for youth to compassionately explore their whole selves, question the world with an empathetic and critical lens, and demand action. She is also currently working as the Program Manager for Youth Climate Lab. Siobhan is passionate about equity-centred community design and climate justice, and endeavours to weave these two passions into all she does. You can often find her in nature, with her near and dear, dancing, or stitching a new creation.

Natalie CoutureNatalie Couture

Nova Scotia

Natalie (she/her) graduated with her degree in Psychology from St. Francis Xavier University. Working in Mental Health in Dartmouth, Halifax and Cape Breton, she decided to settle in North Sydney, Cape Breton. She runs her own business, The Floral Rabbit, and is working towards Post Graduate Certification, where she can merge her appreciation for therapy with her skills in textiles.

Saa Andrew Gbongbor

New Brunswick

Saa Andrew (he/him) graduated from Saint Thomas University in Fredericton NB with a degree in Human Rights Law. He is the Chief Creative Officer for Battle of the Arts NB (BOTA-NB), a youth-led art-based show that works with diverse community members and partners to promote cultural awareness through the arts.

Since 2011, Gbongbor’s youth-led art show has included artists from across the east coast working to empower youth, bring community together, create excitement around arts, and learn in a safe space. Saa Andrew writes, composes, performs and produces music.

Through cultural awareness presentations in schools for children, youth and educators, he explores dismantling racism, team building and why representation matters. He has worked with diverse artists around Canada and across the border on numerous art projects.

Christina MacLeod

Prince Edward Island

Christina MacLeod (she/her) is the Chief Taskmaster at VOLUME18, a strategic communications firm. She has worked in startups, health and environmental policy, federal government relations, and community development. Her passion is bringing together the right players to create change. She lives in Stratford, PEI with her husband and two children.
